Inspection???

Hello All,
I have had a BMW 325i (2001) for almost a year now. While starting my car I noticed my car is due inspection in another 100 miles. Hence I called BMW dealer to set up a time. I was under the impression it is under warranty and the person I bought the car from had stated the car was bought in Oct of 2001. I figured my car is still under warranty and I should have no problems setting up this inspection. When I called a few days ago, I was told my car's warranty expired on Sept 26th and hence this inspection will not be covered under warranty. I tried explaing to the dealership, the information that was passed on to me while purchasing the car but it did not help. I am told the inspection will now cost me around $400 ghead . Can someone please advice?? Has anyone dealt with a similar situation. Your help will be appreciated!

I would never rely on the seller regarding the warranty. I wouldve spent 20$ and gottn a Carfax report that is pretty much accurate regarding the warranty information. Also you can call up any BMW dealer before you buy a car and ask them to look up your vehicle by the VIN number. It is a free service provided by most dealers and some might charge like 25$ to do. Its worth the money to know the truth about this. Right now as it stands IF your warranty has expired you have to pay up the ghead 400$ dollars and the need for paying for any other repairs that they might (WELL I AM PRETTY SURE THEY WILL FIND SOMETHING TO CHARGE YU BUCKS)......nothing doing to get around it. I would double check though with an independent dealer but also with Crafax. Go to the link below and you will get one free Crafax report. Hope this helps.

BMW of Seattle quoted me 750 - 900 for Inspection II on my 2001. Feel lucky you are getting out the door with only 400 spent

DIY its easy, or find an independant garage that will do it for less!
Car is not under warrantee, no reason to keep getting raped by the stealership!
