info on e-46's

i am selling my e-36 & prlly gonna get a e-46 idk a whole lot about the 46's other than the obvious.. specs and what not.. any common problem i should look out for? common under carriage rust spots? any info would b great thanks

Ive tried that.. the search bar on here isnt the best its kinda hard 2 find what your lookin for when theirs thousands of post with the same words in them.. guess ill try searchin them some more though cuz postin def ant helpin any.. i just figured if 40+ ppl read it off a e-46 forum id get a little more input?!?!?

My brother had a 2000 328i & from what I read, they basically have the same issues as the E36, rear trailing arm bushings, coolant system issues, HVAC fan speed control......etc.

I will tell you this, definitely much harder to work on especially in the engine bay!

icic.. i figured they weren't 2 different being that the 323's n 325's e-46 still ran the 2.5's.. yah the motors def look a lil more snug in the engine compartment

Yes basically the same, I had to replace the t-stat & water pump in his E46 & I had just a few months earlier did the same on my E36, boy what a difference!

1.5 hours on my E36, 3 HOURS on his E46, JUST MUCH tighter........
