hey guys, i ordered a bmw with imola red paint. i haven't seen it on the streets before, or even in pics. I was wondering if there is anyone out there that has a BMW with an Imola red colour. if so, can you post it, or tell me if it looks any good?
Why would you buy a car in a colour you've never seen?
You're a brave man......... what if it turns up and it's pink?

<span style='color:red'>"Aaahh the UK; where every road is jammed, under construction, poorly maintained and unfairly policed, at least we don't get over-taxed for it........ HA HA HA!"</span>
All I can say is.... great choice. It is sick as hell. I don't have a pic of mine on this machine to post. If you get an M3 in red, this is the color you get. It only comes on Ms and ZHPs. Go to the BMW website, you can see the color there. It is a much richer red than the "electric red" which is more orangish.
i hope u are right guys, Though the reason i chose that colour, was because i haven't seen any car with it, and though, the more popular blue and silver are nice colours and suit the car really well, its all too common! they probably account for like 80% of BMW's sold.
Though after i signed the contract, i heard that red (imola red) is an unpopular colour because it has low resale value, and doesn't suit many cars, in particular BMWs. this worried me a little.
but Thanks for the confidence guys.
It looks really good and if it's more rare than the other colours your resale should be higher!
I think it could actually be one of the best colours on a bm next to the csl silver....

Dude, stop worrying. If you want a head turning BMW, this is your color. Every other color is so common its ho-hum. The reason it is rare is because it is limited to the Ms and ZHPs which are not as common. You will catch many people staring. It is sweeeet.
Umm, also i forgot to mention...The BMW that i ordered, doesn't come with ZHP (the performance package). I didn't like the performance package much at all, because the exterior window sills are black, rather than the chrome finish around the outside. And that little bootlid spoiler, I recon it ruins thesmooth lines of the BMW, to me it is kinda out of place (though i know this can be removed with no hassle). Aslo other things i didn't like was that the enterior. Its got that alimunium cube trim, rather than wood (which i prefer the mertle wood). and also the ceiling has got that black sppungy thing, which also i ddin't like. i wanted the whole enterior to be beige and bright in colour wityh wood trim. so thats why i didn't order the performance package. Just the M-tech Body kit which was good, though i don't mind the standard one either.
I had to go through all different ways to get the Imola red due to it only being a 'M' colour. (sorry for the long post)
The ZHP is for driving enthusiasts. All the things you dislike are performance options. The Alcantara wheel, etc. are "race inspired". I do have the leather interior though, not Alcantara. The look of the ZHP is by far the sportiest of the 3 Series (minus the M of course). The M Wheels, steering wheel, shifter etc are all nice touches too.
BTW- I am not exagerating. A slick red (especially this red) car will definitely catch more looks than a white car dude. But thats just the facts. B)
Yeh, i get you totoally. but thats the thing, i wanted to it to look more elegant, rather than raw/sporty. Thats why i avoided the ZHP. however i still ordered some 18'inch wheels, and other little touches. I was looking for a red colour in the BMW charts, that was rich in colour...you know...gives that thick red, like wine, just a tad lighter. In my mind, i think it would suit the chrome line exteriors, thats why. well i'll see when i get it.

You'll be fine - the Imola Red is a fine choice and wont hurt your resale value.
Hell, I catch myself wishing I had gotten it - mainly because its a rare color.
I didn't think you could get this color on a non ZHP 330 or 325. That's what the website and brochure say, anyway.
My final thoughts are that pretty much any BMW is going to look beautiful but you should be thrilled with this color. I look forward to hearing back from you.
