This happened to me except I think they must have been drunk or something because instead of just taking the whole thing, they set out to peel the damn thing off...I still have no idea how this was possible, but I just took it off and replaced it with the one from my 328i that I debadged before the insurance company had it towed away forever.
Whats the easiest way to get the front emblem off? I just bought 2 carbon fiber ones and am having a rough time getting the front one off because I don't want to scratch the hood or break the roundrels. The back was easy I just got underneath it and popped it off.
I am in the same boat as you 323bmr... someone stole the hood emblem off of my Saab the other day, but I think I know who did it and I plan on kicking his ass.

what I did was use a screwdriver wrapped in electrical tape to gently pry it a bit, then used some fishing line to slowly work it out. I have the cf roundels too, dont look that bad in my opinion. I didnt want to get those stick on cf decals, when I could get a brand new roundel for pretty much the same price..
