i am just starting to modify my car and i have some questions

I already put in a sound system and nav so for now my interior is good but i am about to put on rims tints and a body kit and they start with performance. But the rim shops are telling me that i can fit 20 in rims {btw i have a 2002 325xi} but other people are telling me they will rub so then i was thinking maybe get 19 in rims and lower my car because i do drive like a jerkoff and i do not want my rims to hold me back or me be pist that i got that size and have to get new ones so if anyone could help me it would be really appreciated!

If they're saying you can run 20's...goodluck, our cars arn't cadillacs lol. I mean 19s is fine but 20s is just over the line. I mean if you are stock suspension i dont see why not hehe. But if you are a crazy driver and would like to eventually auto x in the later future i'd just get a decent set of 18s, and nice set of coilovers, rogue engineering rsm's(rear strut mounts), and also make sure you have good control arm bushings which i just had changed because they tend to go out but if you change it before you lower your car you wont have nothing to worry about.
