How do you turn off DSC on a 2000 328Ci? - BMW Forum

If its the same as my 2001 325ci, all you do is apparently hold the button for about 3 seconds, then let go. Check with your owners manual, if you dont have one, register your car with www.bmwusa.com in the owner's circle. Once you have, you can download your owners manual to your computer and read it

well on my mom's 330i the button w\ the circle arrow round a triangle with a ! in it. Just press that and then on the dashboard a ligh eill come on w\\ that picture. And that means its off. (it will stay on). Then if u press it again it the light will turn off meaning its on.

so it's ok to drive around with that light on? I was told by my dealer where I bought the car, that it would damage the car......

yeah its ok it just means the traction controll is off. So u could damge the car because of less controll but if you want to drive w\ your back wheels u need it on. But call your dealer because maybe your car has all whell drive or some option thast works against it. But a normal 330i is fine .. My bmw dealer is a family friend so. He told us (my brother and i) all about it. (just somehow left it out to my mom).lol

there is a little more to turning off this &*^%ing electronic big brother.

press the dcs button once, briefly. the center dash light, yellow little circe wil come on. this means that a component of the dsc system is off. the car will behave normally (unlike with this crap always on), i.e. it will allow some rear wheel slip, but you will still get into tank slappers on asphalt. however, it will not cut off fuel whenever is sense slip, so you can actually drive it.

press the button for 3 seconds. center light will appear, and the "brakes" light will glow orange (if there is a brake probelm it is red). all electronic minders are off. no traction control, no stupid abs sensors cutting off fuel, nothing. what is left is rev limiter and braking with abs. this lets you steer on the throttle, with lurid tails spins, or drifting if you so choose. remember that your car has no limited slip, so this can get out of hand.
