How do I install electric switch for window?

My rear quarter light button has snapped off on my 2002 coupe. I have bought a new switch from bmw which comprises of a single unit with front and rear buttons on it. I need to install it next to the gear stick . Does anyone now how I do this. Do I need to remove the whole of the centre console or is there an easier way other than getting the dealer to fit it! If it is standard transmittion, than cearfully pull the skirt out of trim panel, pull edge of the skirt toward gear shift, start in the midle and work your way to the corner. It just snaps in place. You'll see screws, that hold trim panel with switches. Take them out an you're home free.
If it is an automatic: can't help you, just donno.
