How Did Your Price Negotiations Go?

Hi,

I'm in the midst of price haggling for a 2011 335i convertible.

When buying your BMW(s), do you happen to recall what percentage discount you were able to negotiate off the MSRP? One salesman we took a test drive with was initially adamant that it's inconceivable for his dealership to give more than a 4% discount. After I walked away, he phoned and said he was willing to go to 6%.

Would you have any other advice or tips for price negotiations?

Visit Edmunds.com and look for the invoice price (not MSRP) for the car configured teh way you are want it. Then I would add a couple thousand dollars to that (or around 5%) -- the dealership has to make some money, you know

I'd like to negotiate by invoice but I'm not sure what the best way to find that is. I live in Canada and so can't use US figures.
