how to convert from manual side mirrors to power folding mirrors

hi i own a 2001 e46 coupe. somebody broke one of my side mirrors while it was parked somewhere, anyway i got it changed. my standard mirrors were manual, where to fold them up i had to do it manually. but the new ones i'v got put in are motorised, but i cant obviouslly use the motorised option as my car was made with the manual mirrors. i was wondering is there anyway i can add something in my car that will make them fold with the touch of a button???

You might be able to source some BMW OEM stuff for that. Not sure if motorized folding mirrors were an option for your '01, but it might have been. I know the 5's, 7's and X5's had that as an option. Check w/ your dealer or favorite BMW parts source.

Obviously if you were able to buy a motorized mirror that fits, there has got to be some kit or collection of parts for a 3 series out there. Maybe in the later e46 model years.

These were an option on the Euro versions of your car. Start looking around for a euro control module for this. It could very well be prewired in. Another member here did it awhile ago by the name of woobiee.
