I need to replace the hood emblem on my 2000 323i, I read somewhere that the pins are at the 3 and 9 o'clock position and you need a thin bladed screwdriver to work the emblem off. Anyone out there who has removed or replaced their emblem and could give me some pointers? The search engine wasn't working so there may be an old thread out there somewhere. Would appreciate any help.
I had the same problem with my 99 323i. The paint was chipping off the emblem. Go to http://www.bavauto.com/shop.asp, and do a search for roundel. Select your year and model, and they are $12.95. They were nice to deal with, and shipping was very fast. I believe they might also have a PDF doc that explains it. Be patient when removing the roundel, and work your way around on all sides evenly. It will eventually pop off with a little force, and you can install the new one with a little pressure until you hear a small snap. Hope this helps, and good luck!

Fangs, go to bimmerzone.com and the roundel is $9.95. Bavarian will price match that when you talk to a representitive. I prefer to deal with bavauto.com myself, great people to deal with. Thanks for the tip 99e46, already have one ordered should be here this week.

Hey no problem Troop705! It is a little ironic that we have all had problems with the roundels. Yes, bav auto is nice to deal with, I ordered a CD changer mounting bracket, and it specifically stated no hardware. That was no big deal to me, and when I got the packeage, and opened it up surely enough the hardware was included. I will keep the pricematch thing in mind thanks for the tip, I ordered direct from the website.
Fangs, I ordered the grommets when I ordered mine, and didn't actually need them. You could pull your roundel off, and if you damage them you can always add that to your order. I just went ahead, and got them so I would be safe and wouln't have to mess with gettting them seperate.
