I have H7 HIDs taken from my 96 320i that i want to put in my 02 325i. Although it didn't have any problems on my e36, i was told that it would give a fault warning on my e46.
I was told a resistor or diode needs to be installed to prevent this fault. Does anybody know what to do on this? I hate to let these HID's, (6000k low and 8000k hi), go to waste. they won't fit my 07 Honda CRV either.
So the resistor, or a bridge rectifier, would be to compensate for the extra 20 watts of the starter ballast. Go to an electronic store and they should sell you the parts and advise on how to rig it.
