Anyone bought these before or anything I should look out for? I've email the seller and he says they will fit my 03. He also says there's "no cutting or complicated steps" involved. I know the dealers are reluctant to install aftermarket HIDs, so I was looking to do it myself.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
JK

i had the standard lights on my 3 series.
but now i have the xenons....
the only thing i had to do was,,,,,,,,add a small bulb ,,inside the engine bay,,to each circuit..this was because the sensors werent detecting the lights,,so they wouldnt come on.....when i added a small water proof light to each circuit inside the engine bay,,voila,,they worked
the added attraction is,,when i have my lights on,,the engine bay is illuminated as well...not a lot but just a little in each corner
and they are self levelling as well,,,

Well, the kit is for 99-02 3 Series, not 03 and it is overprice. Search and email for the guy here name Jonathan Levi, he has a web site for all the upgrades. His web site is jlevisw.com. Tell him Jeremy send you.
why would you buy new projectors... just buy the proper size hid conversion kit.. and install them!! your spendign about 300 bucks too much!! with that 300 bucks you save!! buy some angel eyes or somthing!! heh!!
I was wondering how you put the lights in to have the sensors dont pick up that they lights are blown out. Please provide pictures if you can becuase I have done the same exact you have but I have to keep my lights on at all times when I am driving so the sign stays off. Thanks for your help.

I'm not sure if i got what you said storme. Did you just replace your stock regular bulbs with HID/Xenon bulbs without any ballasts or projecter kit? And if so how much and is it the same with the 2001?
Thanks for the feedback. The standard halogens don't have projectors, so I can do one of two things: 1) buy new projectors w/ HID lights or 2) just replace the halogen lights with HID lights. I had heard that doing the later might require some cutting since the HID lights are slightly larger than the standard halogens. Also, I heard that you won't get quite the projection from the HIDs from just swapping lights.
If anyone has pics of before and after halogens to HID for this, that would be awesome! And not to be greedy, but I'm talking up close and personal pics of the lights.
Thanks! Looking to convert soon! I can't stand these halogens!

I'm not sure if i'm following this thread correctly, however, if your looking for Projector headlights with HID Jlevi has them STARTING at $500 with no HID (just halogen projectors?) If you want the HID's it'll be another $300 = $800 for the set.
However, and correct me if I'm wrong, but Umnitza has the same lights (in fact, i think Jlevi gets them from them) for $789. Thier on sale for clearence.
They are both DDE Lighting....however, Jlevi has an added remote (included) for fancy on/off operations of the DDE. I'm not sure on shipping, that could be the deciding factor between the two.
If I answered the post wrong, just ignore this, otherwise, those are what your looking for if you need a projector replacement with HID's.
Dough
btw, you'll want to get a projector with any HID's to focus the light in the right direction, assuming i understand how they work. Also, I think those sites above have customer remarks and pictures of installed lights. D

Wut im thinking is that just by replacing the stock halogens with HID bulbs will not give you enough power to run the lights effectively. And I think buying the HID kit with the Basalts and all will, but you wont get the proper projection of light, and its not really worth it without the projectors to concentrate the light for that real Xenon OEM look.
Right... so I gather that by purchasing the complete housing, you'll get exactly what you want. In the future, should you choose to get different bulbs, I think it'll just be a simple swap out, if you had the projector lenses. This is what I don't get about them....
"Will not trigger onboard check systems on the computer, however, testing will be continued to prevent "Headlamp Failure" messages from ever occurring."
So it will still cause a problem. I wonder if anyone whom have purchased these could verify if its true or false. Perhaps Jlevi, being a forum sponsor... right?... could voice an opinion in here about that, seeing how it's copied onto his description of the product as well.

it is possible to have HID lighting without projectors but I HIGHLY do not recommend doing.
my brother has converted to HID in his M Roadster (w/ Xtec 9006 HID conversion). He did not buy the projectors and instead he uses the stock halogen reflector/projectors. Sure its HID but its not very cool.
First, the light output was lower than the stock halogen IMO. You hardly can see at night. And second, on coming traffic are irritated by the HID output. Since the stock halogen projectors are made for halogen and not HID, the HID light beams are pretty much omnipresent or scattered.
With projectors, the HID light is concentrated to one point and then aimed correctly to the ground. The stock halogen reflector/projectors cannot be a replacement for real HID projectors...they are made for halogens. With projectors, #1 your output at night will be much greater and #2 since they will be aimed and projected correctly, it will not bother anyone on the road.
JLevi and Umnitza projector headlights are great. Infact I just made an order last week and will get them installed this Saturday. (I have standard halogen currently).
