HI: New member, question about A/C

Hello forum, new member with a 325 CiC Dark Blue, Blue Top and Tan interior, 75K Miles.
Everytime I start my bimmer the A/C also is on. This A/C is the digital type. I feel it makes extra effort on the engine and of course, I would like to turn the A/C when I want & like not just every time.
I always turn it off before leaving the car.
Any tip, idea, suggestion on how to fix this. I hope not to go to the dealer to be ripped-off for a simple task.
THX in advance for your tips.

Hello Darkhorse737 & thx for your interest.
My BMW is a 2001 325 CiC with sport package. (P.S.: I love it and so far much better than my previous 325 convertible '94).
Regards & enjoy your weekend
