help! radio volume constantly maxed!

hi guys! i know NOTHING about cars but something has gone terribly wrong with my '01 325xi!!!

i was turning up the volume on my radio then all the sudden it jumps to the maxed volume and it wont go down anymore. i tried using the wheel control, the radio dial, changing the radio station and modes, and then proceeded to push every button on my car but the volume still wont go down!!! i eventually had to turn of my radio because there was nothing i could do to fix it

help!! is there any simple way to fix this problem instead of bringing it to a mechanic? thanks!

use the volume control on the steering wheel

uhm... he said the steering wheel volume control wouldn't work.

It's possible your head unit is broke. A mechanic won't be able to help you with that, try an audio shop like Tweeter.
