Hey everyone! My name is Ryan, im obviously new to the forum. I've ALWAYS been a BMW man, and now i have the chance to get one, but the decision really lies on insurance costs. I was planning on getting a 2005 Acura RSX (probly Type S) but insurance is ridiculous! I was just wondering if any of you had a thought as to whether the insurance on a 2002 BMW 325i Sedan would be less than the insurance on both the 2005 Acura RSX and the RSX Type-S. I hear that it should be a lot less due to the four doors on the 325, but I don't really know. I would usually just call for another quote but everytime i get a quote they pull my credit scores which keeps lowering my Beacon score, in turn giving me a worse rate when its time to buy. ( I found a black/black 2002 with 29k LOADED manual for $24k)
thanks so much for anyone's help... this decides if i can get my beamer or not!!
I'm almost positive the '02 325i would be cheaper to insure than an '05 RSX Type S. The only fair way to distinguish two cars is by their ISO symbol, which nearly all major insurance companies use. ISO is an outside vendor that determines a vehicles symbol, 1-27, with 27 being high. Acuras and BMWs typically have high ISO symbols, but Acura's are really high, presumably due to their high theft rate.
I'll look up the symbols tomorrow at work and post them up - check back for symbols.
My question is this - why are they pulling your credit score everytime they quote you a different vehicle :confused Once your score is pulled, your agent should be able to quote you every vehicle out there if need be w/o calling for your credit score every single time. Sounds odd to me.
Awesome. Thanks so much dude. Do you have any idea what the ISO symbol is for the non type-s Manual transmission RSX Base model??
