zibby is an unknown quantity at this point
That could be a few things :
-EWS module error
-ignition switch faulty
-automatic transmission parking/neutral switch faulty(if your car is auto)
-alternators` solenoid(banging on it ,not always helps !)

Key failures are fairly common. Do you have another key you can try?
Do this to see if it is related to the key/EWS system:
Roll down the windows. From the outside of the car insert the key in the drivers door. leave it there and now get in the car and sit in the drivers seat. reach out the window and use the key to lock the car via the driver's door lock cylinder. Remove the key from the door and now put it in the ignition and turn ignition to position 2. IF the key is recognized and the EWS system is working then you should hear the door locks make a noise which means that the EWS system is taking the car out of "double lock" mode so that you can safely get out of the car. if this does not happen then you know that the problem lies somewhere in the EWS system whether it be a bad key, bad module etc. Most common thing is just a faulty key.
regards,
