HELP -Doors won't unlock!

I'm having this intermittent problem: Occasionally when I press the key fob to unlock the doors it will only unlock the driver door. When I press the button a second time to unlock the the rest of the doors it sometimes makes the noise as if the doors are trying to unlock,but they don't. THEN at other times the car does this PLUS when I reach over to pull the door levers to manually unlock them (front and back) they DON'T unlock. I have actually had to climb in NASCAR style Anyone ever had to deal with this? any suggestions on how to fix?

My 325 CI is literally in the shop now for this issue! It was annoyingly intermittant, and of course wouldn't happen when I brought it in to the dealer.

I made a point of running it through every concievable lock situation and then discovered the problem: when the car auto-locked passing 8 mph, the latch would fail and become unopenable. I brought it in, and was able to demonstrate it by driving no further than to the curb, and the shop forman simply determined to replace the door latch.

Of course, what really was of concern to me was what would happend to my girlfriend or son if we got in a crash, I was passed out or dead and they would be unable to get out of the damn car! To me that is the biggest concern.

I had this problem quite recently on my 330 Touring, on two occasions having to load all the kids into the car through the drivers door. Needless to say my wife was not impressed.

It needed the central locking computer replaced to make it work again. It was intermittant but seem to get steadily worse over time.

I seem to remember it wasn't that cheap, but you probably knew that anyway. Since then not a problem.
