I have done a search on squeaking noise but I didn't find anything helpful. If you know a link to a previous thread, please feel free to point me there.

I have a 2003 330 Ci (5 spd) with 13,700 miles on it. The interior is leatherette and I have sports package with it. This morning when I drove the car to work, I noticed an unusual amount of squeaking come from the back. The road that I was driving was "normal" - bumps here and there, but nothing dramatic like pot holes. Nonetheless, I feel like there are birds chirping behind the rear passenger seat every time I ran into the slightest bump.

Now I know that sports package makes the ride rougher, but I don't think the chirping sound is part of that. Also, at the time, the outside temperature was 36 F and I started driving the car once the rpm dropped below 1000 rpm (about 20 secs after the car had started).

Any wisdom from you all BMW fans would be appreciated.

its really hard sometimes to pinpoint squeking noises. First i would check your trunk for any loose objects maybe your sparetire or jack could be loose and your rear seat area for anything that might be there to cause noise. Otherwise i think when it becomes cold the material ie seats springs etc in the interier and body is more prone to squeaks and rattles but should subside when it warms up

So I guess sqeaking has to do with the weather?! I checked the trunk and nothing is loose.

my guess is your suspension. take it to your dealer and have them fix it under warranty.

I had a similar problem and I knew it was my suspension. Told the dealer there were squeeks from the back and they replaced springs and shocks all for free.
