Headlight swapping

Hi there. I have a 2002 325i without xenon headlights (meaning I have the regular halogen headlights without projectors). Is it possible to do a headlight swap to the xenon projectors? And if so, would it be an easy swap or would I have to do some wiring? I found some xenon headlight assembly packages on ebay complete with bulb and ballasts. I was wondering if bulbs and ballasts are all I need or is there some other things that I should know about.

Also, are the headlights for the 2-door and the 4-door the same? Please give a response if you can answer any of my questions. I want those xenons! ^^

In short, this is a BIG ordeal and a pain in the ass, all to wind up with an iffy install that may or may not work, and will most likely have frequent bugs/tweaks.

If you are really serious about it, a retrofit kit would be better, but then you are talking about $1K.

Why not just upgrade the bulbs to a higher wattage. I installed a set of Hoen 70 watt H-7's to replace the stock 55 watt setup. No problems so far, and the light ouput is dramatically improved.

I orignally wanted to add Xenon, but when I researched the retrofit, it was just too complicated. The stock units even have an automatic leveler to maintain accurate aim as the car is loaded with various luggage and/or riders. Nice idea, but too much for me to add on...especially compared to just twisting out one bulb and replacing it with another. gordo
