Headlamp washers not coming out - BMW Forum

Hi,

On my 330Ci (2003) my Headlamp washers do not come out and wash the lights. I have confirmed the following:

1. Lights are on
2. Water in the shared resevoir
3. Windscreen washes

Not sure what else it can be.

You should only get 1 headlamp wash for every cycle of the key, so basically it only works the 1st time you use the washers, every time after that only the windshield washers will work. Once you shut the car off and restart it again the 1st wash will again be headlamps and windshield. You may or may not have already been aware of this but I thought I would mention it to help you with your testing.

If they are not working I would check for leaks in the lines. Im not sure if there is a separate pump for headlamp washers but look and see if there is and if so see if it is working.

Actually the headlamp washers work every 5th wash so your 1st wash and then again on the 6th and so on.

It works! I think I hadn't realised the first Wash/Wipe I performed after each Engine Start. Plus, I was judging it based on the fact that the light doesnt appear clean as it builds up gunk very quick during bad weather conditions!

Thanks guys! Its nice to know that a car I bought in August this year isnt showing signs of problems
