about my experience with my UUC Evo3 SSK and Tranny Mount Enforcers. I'm modding my '99 323i in a way that many of we married guys must stealthily do...by upgrading as things wear out. I was in the market for new tranny mount bushings, and pinged Jon Caldito at Mperformance.com-- who made me an offer I couldn't refuse. I got free UUC tranny mounts and enforcers with the purchase of an Evo3. w00t! Michael of this forum's very own EuroPersona also gave Jon's company a thumbs up, BTW.
I asked for the name of a reputable shop to install them, and Jon told me of The M Shop (
http://www.themshop.com) in Eagle Rock, owned by Joe Barrios. That's quite a haul from my home in Bakersfield, but as the only other non-stealership shop I'd trust my baby with is an almost equal drive North I thought I'd take a chance.
I'm glad I did. Joe and his people not only did a bang-up job, but he also helped nail down a nagging CPO warranty issue I've been having with the local BMW dealership. Thanks to Joe troubleshooting the problem (a stripped mounting bolt in the diff case, resulting in a loose differential and an odd "thump" when yanking through gears) that issue is now well on the way to being solved.
And as for the Evo3 SSK and tranny mounts?
Awesome. My high-milage ride (just under 100k freeway miles) is better than new, with sweet shifting action and a very tight feeling drivetrain. I can't wait until that diff is fully fixed...then it'll be toight like a toiger!
SoCal E46ers....I highly recommend Joe and Jon. Real, no kidding Bimmerheads who'll do you right.
