karlsson1974 n00b Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Malta (Europe) Car: 318ci coupé (late 2000) Posts: 11 Photos:	Final Drive Problem Hi guys - I've recently encountered some problems with my late 2000 318ci coupé... i've started to hear a noise coming from the back and when I took it to the stealership they told me that it's due to the final drive shaft which needs replacing! Total cost will be €2,000 (labour included). Now my question is - is it possible that the problem may be due to some form of u-joints( or ball races) not sure what these are called as I'm not too mechanically minded... HELP!!! I'm not sure I want to run the risk of spending all that money when it could also be something more trivial and much less expensive!!! THANKS to you all once again!
