Few Questions/ideas, First Time Owner

First, you can take a look at the specs and a picture via my post in the picture forum.

This is my first BMW, so I've got a few basic questions, and some ideas I'm thinking about. I'm just throwing the ideas out there for some feedback.

1) It seems like a good idea (as I've read) to grab a bra for long distance driving. I will be doing a few road trips with this vehicle. Is there a specific manufacture/model that is most popular for occasional use?

2) First car with leather seats. I've read that the BMW cleaning and agent works pretty well when done once or twice a year. Any other suggestions/products?

3) I think it's hard to go wrong with installing the BMW alarm. Mine is already pre-wired. Any known issues, or reasons to stay away from it?

4) I'm really debating the IPOD attachment. Mine doesn't have the CD changer, so this seems like the more intelligent upgrade (instead of the changer).

5) It claims my next service isn't due for another 13,000 miles, but this just seems risky to me. I plan to do an oil change every 7,000 or so depending on how hard I've been driving it.

6) Any suggestions on BMW rim friendly cleaner? The outsides of mine are spotless, but there is some serious gunk towards the center that's hard to reach.

3. what do you need that for? nobody cares if it goeas off, and tha car comes with ignition kill anyway. i would TAPE UP the vin number visible in the drivers front windshield. people take it a dn the cut the key, then drive away whether you had the alarm or not...
5. wont hurt.
6. the bmw cleaner is fantastic. spray on, do not let dry, wash off. it is an acid based compound, but will not hurt alloys.

6) yeah you can use acid, i wouldnt buy BMW's. i m sure you can find it cheaper. i use simple green

1) Depends on how "long" is long distance......the clear bras are a good option though I have rerely seen Bimmers in my area use any bras of any kind......I hate that on BMWs .....but thats just me.

2) You can buy Meguiar's leather care solution at an autozone for 6.99....i use it once every three months. Perfect. They dont recommend too much solution on leather. Remember leather wears naturally and is virtually forever unless some body cuts it up with a blade or sharp object...... ghead.

3) Alarm is always a good option but it depends on where you stay and if your car is garaged. Since I see in the pics you have a garage at night......I would not worry about it as Bimmers have some real tough key lock mechanisms.......If i were a thief I would go after a Honda accord across from you than your bimmer.....unless I had a specific order for a black 2005 330i :P . I keep mine garaged at night and at worked its in a secured location no alarm.

4) I wish I could put one on mine but I am saving up money for the Phatbox (799$ from Bavauto) that should take care of all my music needs .

5) Good idea. My mechanic also recommends 6-7K changes and always rolls his eyes when shown the bimmer manuals.....LOL.

6) I use a Meguiar's wheel and rim cleaner....spray...leave for 5 minutes wash.....works well on outer parts but yeah those interior parts of the huge tires on bimmers are a doozie to get out......I tried once using a long wheel brush....but oo much work....guess if no one can see it....its clean...hehehe :P .

Oh and have fun the bimmer.

About $27000 after the discounts. It was about 4000 under what KBB listed.
