Few Question For 2001 330i

hey guys

I have a 2001 330i with the business cd player with 10 speaker harmon kardon sound.

I want to buy an ipod or this samsung mp3 player but dont know how easy it is to hook them up to the car system


Also, i want to hook up my cell phone to the car system as well so i can use the phone button on my steering wheel to answer calls ....any input ?

Hi not sure about the Phone but you can connect any MP3 player with a connection (about £55) that runs from the boot connected to where the CD changer would be and run this under your back seat and into the centre arm rest between the front seats.

You can also get a special kit for the IPOD - but its white - is it going to look cool in your car??

I have an Iriver ihp140 - really good MP3 HD player - would recomend this for ease of use with a PC etc.

Also, the bmws were wried for the ipod kit they sell only from 2002+, so since mine is a 01 , i cant really use that ipod kit.

Has anyone used the ipod fm transmitter option, which transmits the sound by using a radio frequency ?

I have a DLO TransPodFM, which is a bulky peice of crap FM transmitter. I would highly advise against that one because there is an annoying beeping when you turn up the volume on quiet songs. I don't like the FM transmitter while I am in the city due to static and having to change stations every now and then.

I am getting the IceLink Plus, which should be here sometime within the next week or so. I debated for a long time, but the new IceLink Plus sounds too good to pass up. You can mount the iPod anywhere you want, or get mounts for it to put in front of your vents or beside your console. The cool thing is that the new version now displays (or claims to) the song info on your radio, not just the iPod. You can still control the iPod through the iPod itself, but also through the radio and steering wheel. It adds the whole playlist deal like the Apple/BMW connect kit does, but you can also scroll through your songs in your own playlists, not just preset ones. Besides, everyone needs an iPod. When I get out of my car, I put mine in the dock that is connected to my home stereo. I haven't used a music CD in a little over a year now and I don't miss them at all. Well, that is just my thoughts...
