Hi, I have a 2001 BMW 318i, 4 speed Steptronic, and have noticed that it seems to change through the gears quite fast and is not very smooth. eg will change from 1st to 2rd at 3500 rpms and drop down to 2500 rpms thus give a jolting feeling. Is this normal or should I have it looked at. Is it the Auto Adaptive transmission at work?? Cheers
My 323 shifts pretty smoothly even wide open. I've also driven a few others including 330s, and they shift the same as mine. You might want to get the dealer to check it out.
