False leather your comment please ?

I'm looking for to buy a new car and a 325I is one my choice. I was wondering how is the false leather, how it will be in few years of use, is it confortable (not too sticky), does the colour change with the sun ?

yes a kind of. The right word is leatherette uphosltery. It's an imitation of leather, it looks like leather but it doesn't smell like leather.
It's what you got in a 320 for example.
In the other you can have the option of putting real leather

i have leatherette. i only have one regret, it doesnt have the leather smell. other than that, im glad i got leatherette. saved money, and loooks equally good if not better. Its a 2000 model and so far no cracks, smears, scratches, fades, etc.

I have leatherette and no regrets. I don't have to condition it, it doesn't wrinkle and still looks like the day I bought it in 2002. I also saved $2k.

From the info I read about it... it is not vinyl but a compsite material that contains real leather. I believe it is more durable than leather.

No regrets... I'd buy it again.

Leatherette is great. Just got a new 2004 325Ci with it and so far I love it. True, there is no new leather smell, but there is the "new car smell" which is just as good and makes you forget the lack of leather smell. Save the money (like I did)for other options, especially if you lease and you know you'll be turning it in in a couple of years. I love to lease because I can get a new BMW every 3 years and am totaly covered warrenty wise.
