Hello all,

I'm in the process of buying a used 2000 328ci. I got one of those loans online and they have an option to purchase an extended warranty up to 100,000 miles. The rough estimate for the warranty is around 1800.00. The car has 48000 miles on it. Do you guys recommend such an option? The owner said he never had a problem with the car. But I heard that BMWs are really expensive to fix so this may be worth it if a couple of repairs pop up. This is also my first BMW so I don't know how reliable they are.

Thanks,

TKE402

bmw is a pretty reliable car, but there can always be exceptions (as with everything else). What does the warrant cover? I don't think it would be a bad idea to just get it.

Good Luck - nice choice

Keep in mind difference between full maintenance vs full warranty. Full maintenance covers things like break pads, oil service, filter changes, etc up to 100K. Should be about $1300 + while full warranty is warranty that covers machines.
