Extended Warranty

I bought a 2001, 330ci in December of last year from a private individual and despite having only 27k miles, the BMW factory warranty had expired. I financed it through my Credit Union and opted to purchase their Extended Protection Plan with a company called Old Republic. I believe I paid around $2200 for a 5yr, 60k mile warranty with their Gold plan.

~Has anyone used Old Republic for warranty service?
~does anyone believe this is a good value?

I've had the car for about 6 mths and have only had it serviced once and they did not charge me for installing a new computer module. I could cancel the warranty and take the prorated cash and put it into a savings account in the event a repair was necessary.

any advice would be appreciated.

I bought my 325xi in June last year. The CPO warranty lasted till December 04 and then I bought extended warranty though www.1sourceautowarranty.com at 1800$ for 5 yr 60K (my odometer was at 39K) and that includes free emissions coverage (oxygen sensors, etc etc). So considering that, you have a pretty decent deal and its worth the money you've paid. I know 2 grand sounds a lot at once, but over a period of 60 months thats just ~35 $/mo......1 dinner date. For the peace of mind I have while riding a bimmer...thats priceless. By the way I have had my 01 xi for almost a year now.....(june 6th this year) and all that I have spent on it it 45$ for an oil change in January 05. So although thats the case, it could easily have been worse....and thats what i am prepared for. So dont think you paid 2000$ more for the car.....think thats the price of the car (what yu paid+2200). LOL and the amount we pay for our cars....2K doesnt sound a lot....lol.
I mean I paid 499$ to cover my big screen TV for 4 years.......yu do tha math. any who stop worrying about what you did and start .
