Extended Warranty

I have one uear left on the original factory warranty and I'm considering the option of extending the warranty. Any suggestions on what companies and coverage levels are the best? I have gotten a quote online from Warranty Direct, but only know them from the Web site ($1680 / 6 years / 60,000 miles includes emission system).

What year and model is your car.

I also was looking around for a extended warranty for my 2001 325xi.......i also received a quote from Warranty Direct........seems likea good company but whats the deductible on yours? I was also looking at www1sourceautowarranty.com and Dealer Services (out of new jersey)

3/4 year 60,000 2039$
6 year 100,000 2735$

The car is a 2003 with less than 36k miles and the warranty had no deductable. Still wotld like to hear from someone who has first hand knowledge on yjese companies.

I'm looking for the same info. I may buy a 2000 BMW with 46k on it. The carfax report is clean but I'm considering buying an extended warranty for peace of mind. I've read too many people online saying they have lots of electrical problems with their bmw and I'm not capable of doing much work myself. I have a few questions, any feedback would be appreciated. Right now I'm thinking full warranty with $0 deductible for 3 years, the dealer I want to buy the car from quoted about $1,900.

1.) what are some good companies to use for this service
2.) do these warranties typically allow you to go to any service center, either bmw or private
3.) do you need approval before getting the car fixed
4.) do full warranties cover most everything including brakes and oil changes

I've searched on the net, but I can't tell which of these companies are reputable and which arent'. Thanks

1900 is a good deal but ask how many miles (typically 3 years will run for 60000 to 100000) and does it cover "emissions" too.

www.royalprotectionplan.com (I have bought from these guys cause they give emissions coverage for a little extra and the miles is upto 100000 3 years and they had a good payment plan (15 months no interest) cause I could not afford to pay all the 2200$ at once)

Yes

Nope (hopefully but that is what my contratc sez) unless its something you planned well in advance which is never ever in most cases

4.) do full warranties cover most everything including brakes and oil changes
Nope.....no warranty will cover brakes. struts, oil changes and the inspections they are a part of your regular maintainance of the car and OH BY THE WAY if anything goes worng in the car because you HAVENT DONE any of these regularly yu are liable for the whole cost of the repair.......I checked with most companies about this.
