| Ok, this may be confusing, but I'll try to keep it clear. My 2000 323i has 2 catalytic converters, I'm assuming this is true for all BMW's because of the euro standard for emissions. From what I can see, I have dual pipes coming off the exhaust manifold and into cat 1, then single pipe from cat 1 to cat 2, then single still to the muffler. My question is about performance gains possible if I took out cat 1, and ran dual pipes back to cat 2. I was also thinking of replacing it with a high flow cat, but I don't know of any brands, nor what should be put on a Bimmer.
I hope that made sense. I'm just wondering if the gains will be worth the trouble, and if anyone has done this or heard about it. I'm not under warranty anymore, so I'm free to dismantle whatever I want! :P
