Eww. 325i Tranny. - BMW Forum

Yesterday, after backing out of a spot in a hurry and punching it back into drive and away from the spot. the car was in 1st and the gears didn't catch, or something. it felt like trying to screw in a stripped phillips. ?>!!()*$$&@%(&

still under warranty but this is quite a concern to me as, i wasn't aware that stripping the gears could happen so easily. x.x

any ideas on what i can do to prevent this problem from occuring again?

if you do the same thing time after time yep you will need new tranny

easy does it back up stop put car into gear

you should have a happy tranny then

i know, but any time high torque is involved, they seem to not catch. =\

probably taking it in next week.
