3-Series (E46, E90)Chat relating to the BMW 3-Series from 1999 to Current. Models include: BMW 316i, BMW 318i, BMW 318Ci, BMW 320i, BMW 323i, BMW 325i, BMW 330i, BMW 328 Ci, BMW 328i, BMW 325i/xi, BMW 330Ci, BMW 320d, BMW 330d, BMW 335d.
I currently have a 328Ci. After carful consideration and the extreme lack of any significant performance upgrades for the car... I feel my only option is to do an engine swap. What I was thinking, is that I should find a used 760Li engine... 6 liter V12... and throw that in there. That should put me up over 400hp, I think... and then I can always add a turbo to that if that isn't enough power.
First, is this possible... and if not, what is possible? Second, do I have any options other than this to significantly increase my performance? I've only found one supercharger and it's $6k for 90hp. Something tells me I'd get more bang for my buck doing the swap.
What say ye?

do an m3 swap it will be worth the reliability in the end, and it would be a direct bolton i belive, then u can put a supercharger on that or a turbo or go straight NA and make like 440 hp
the v12 swap wouldnt be worth the cost of the engine alone. the s54 would be easier as buuhh said, and also i have never seen a s/c or t/c on the big v12 block. i dont even think it would fit in the e46 engine bay very well.

Are you fucking nut ? 760 Li powerplant swap into E46 328 body?Probably other part of 12 cylinder engine you would put in your damn trunk! Where are you from ? I can arrange for you engine from old T72 russian tank, if 400 hp is not enough for you -damn it !!!
I say all of this beacause I recently received a sponsorship (pending) for the car and 15 seconds on the drag isn't exactly going to get me the publicity I'm looking for. I've been told an e39 M5 engine would work as well. Time will tell I suppose.

Cannon would be illegal to send from Iran to the USA - SORRY !
These are by far the most obsurd questions i have ever heard. for one for the price of the 12 cylinder or the 5.0 m5 engine you could buy another car or two even. I'm not even goin to elaborate on this one i'm done.
The s54 swap is what you need (e46 M3 engine). It's a inline 6 and would be far easier to swap in. The V8 and the V12 are just too heavy for you and I dont think you want to add so much weight, as it kinda defeats the purpose of the extra horsepower and torque. After that there are PLENTY of F/I options for you to choose form if you arent alreayd satisfied.
Remember there are a lot of things to do other than just the engine and tranny. You will also need to work the suspension voer again to make up for excess engine weight.
