Engine modifications to a new 325 - BMW Forum

I'm torn brtween several cars in the $30K range, among them a new 325 coupe. I drove a 330 this afternoon and loved it, I've always wanted a 3-series BMW and am now finally of means to afford one, so this tends to cement the deal.

Anyhow, I'm mature enough to appreciate the added benefits of a well balanced car and am not hung up on 0-60 times. However, are there any "enhancements" that owners of the current generation can add to squeeze out a few more hp?

why dont you go with a 330? Youll be more satifsied with the almost 30hp differnece

Yes, I agree that a 330 would be the easiest route; however, I wanted to cap my spending at 30K (or so...) and though an apples and oranges comparison, I can get a Subaru STi for a tick over $29K. As much as I like that car, I just don't think I want to live with it as a daily driver since I have a one hour commute, each way.

So, though I care about grunt as much as the next guy, I'd be happy enough with a 325 but I can't help but think Dinan, etc. has a few ideas-- something I haven't researched yet.
