Electrical Problems Ecu?

Can anyone advise me on this one:

My wife's 2000 323i electrical system has benn doing progressivly wierder and wierder things. First the key remote didn't work consistantly. That one the dealer said was due to our window tinting. Then we started getting multiple lights on the shift lever lights at once, if the cars in drive maybe 1, 2, n, and p are all lit. When the car is off and I mementarily turn on the bright headlights they stay on until I turn on then off the headlight switch. today the battery light came on but now it wont.

Me being a computer guy I wanted to do some kind of a default reset on the ECU to put everything back to defaults. Is this possible? Any other recommendations would be great too.

My car had a gremlin too, though it was more with the alarm system and windows. My dealer said that the programing in the car got screwed up somehow, that perhaps by some chance the ECU was changed but not recoded as that was the fault comming up, coding error. It cost $102.82 to reprogram it back to factory settings. Hope this helps.
