Pictures of the actual damage would be best. Hard to determine what is actually broken/damaged without seeing it in person. If their is no body damage, then I wouldnt be worried about the post accident condition of the vehicle as long as the shop used is reputable.
Most common damage when running over something is the control arms and/or tie rods. Other damage can be the strut itself, the shock mount, and the wheel hub and CV joint. You will probably have a repair of close to, or exceding $1,000.
