e90 suspension damaged by rock

Hello everyone!

I am new to the site and new owner of a BMW. Unfortunately 4 days after purchase I was chased off the road to avoid a collision with a truck entering my lane of traffic on a two way street.

Needless to say my car's suspension suffered some damage when I hit a large rock or piece of concrete that was on the side of the road. My question is: Has anyone here experienced similar damage and if so, what were the results of the repair?

I am concerned that the car wont be the same once it returns. Because I have USAA I have to use one of their shops (not mandatory really, but I did not want to risk driving the car further as the alignment on it is out of commission, the tires face slightly outboard and I am getting a stability control warning)

Pictures of the actual damage would be best. Hard to determine what is actually broken/damaged without seeing it in person. If their is no body damage, then I wouldnt be worried about the post accident condition of the vehicle as long as the shop used is reputable.

Most common damage when running over something is the control arms and/or tie rods. Other damage can be the strut itself, the shock mount, and the wheel hub and CV joint. You will probably have a repair of close to, or exceding $1,000.
