I was at the NYC auto show this past weekend. I had to check out the e90 before I decided if I wanted to buy an e46. The car is not all that different really. I didn't care for the interior as well as the e46. Just a bit too plain. The front end is nice. It looks pretty wide. I don't care for the rear. It looks a bit Jap'ish. Not that is a real bad thing, just kind of Camery looking. The new hood looks a bit higher in appearence.
All in all I liked it pretty well, but felt I didn't care for it any more than the e46. I decided to buy the '04 330i yesterday and it is sitting in my garage. I drove it from NYC to Pittsburgh and it kicks. I love this car! 6sp is very smooth and it is not slow to say the least. I averaged 29 mpg in a mix of driving in rush hour traffic on the Garden State Pkw to home. Lots of damn rain.
I still can't believe I have a new car. The only thing the car didn't have that I wanted was a fold down rear seat. I guess I can live without it, but it forces me to do something to get my bicycle around. A rack of some sorte.
Take care and thanks for all the help in making my decision.
Curt
For a BMW product, the roof racks are priced reasonably. I have one that I use on my "5" and "3". Congrats on your new "3", I have one as well and enjoy it thoroughly.

There were two of them there. I sat in one to check out room in the front seat and rear. How could you miss the 90?

No joke... I went there LOOKING for them. I didn't see them. The only thing that people could sit in were the M3's and i think that 325i. Also the X3 and X5, but that's it.
I'll check those pics....

Wow, I wonder if they took them out and shipped them to another show? I think a guy posted a bunch of photos on another forum. I like the e46 better to be honest, but it is still a pretty nice car.
I don't know if they're out yet... but I sware... I saw one driving on Rt 78W near Basking Ridge, NJ. From the front, it looked like a brand new 5 series... but after it passed, the back was 330Ci, from JMK BMW in Springfield, NJ. Maybe it was just my imagination... but it did look like the new model.
