E46 thermostat

I have just bought a 2000 'W' 318iSE. Unless I let the engine idle for ages the temp gauge doesn't get much past the blue with the consequence that the interior heater doesn't get too warm. I suspect that this is the thermostat jamming open but if anyone has any other ideas I'd be pleased to hear them. Also, where can I find the thermostat so I can set about changing it? Cheer s

Yeah !most likely it is a thermostat faulty(open).

I had this very problem last year, and it was the thermostat. It only took an hour to replace and I think the part was about 70 sterling.
