E46 Keyless Remote !? - BMW Forum

Hi
Am i right in believing that my 1999 316i compact already has the wiring in place for me to plug in the correct 'Control Module with Remote' and thats it, job done?
I know there is a socket behind the glovebox and i thought if i get a second hand BMW control unit with remote, (to save money!) plug it in , it would all work 100%?
Is there more to it or am i just hoping its gonna be this easy?

Now Now Chumley no need to get upset. This forum has plenty of information in it if you search properly. This forum has saved me a lot of money and time and you should give it a chance. Unfortunately in this day and age everyone wants instant gratification. My apologies for not answering your post sooner...
