E46 AirCon Compressor not turning on

Hi Everyone,

I took my e46 318i N42 to be regassed as the air was no longer cold. After the regassing was done we noticed that the air was still not getting cold. The aircon light turns on. The have told me I need to get a completely new compressor. Before throwing loads of cash at it I thought to do some research.

What I've found is that the belts are turning but the compressor itself isn't turning. Seems like the clutch doesn't engage.

Does this mean the clutch needs replacing or the compressor is faulty.

Summer is starting and 38degrees celsius isn't fun with no aircon

Really sad that not one person replied to this. It turned out that I needed to recoil the compressor as well as replace some seals as well as the drier needed replacing.
