E46 ABS/ASC/PARKING brake issue when raining

Hey everyone, I baught a 2002 320i a few months ago, private sale. Im having some issues with my abs/asc system as when driving in the rain triggers the three lights to appear on my dash. I had this issue ever since i purchased the car (the guy sold it to me when it was sunny out, thus the lights were not on). Iv done alot of research via forums and narrowed it down to either the speed sensors being faulty, or the abs Module. I order some new speed sensors for my car and replaced them myself, however im still experiencing the "christmas tree" dashboard when it rains.

What do you think my next step should be. I dont want to dish out 500 bucks for a new abs module until im 100 percent positive it is the issue. Since the issue only occurs when its wet im still kinda thinking that there is a problem with water seeping into the electrical system through the speed sensor (since the wire is exposed to the water)

im thinking about taking the speed sensor wires (and the harness) and simply just taping them up with duct tape to prevent water from entering. do you think this is a good idea?

also i tried looking for the abs module but i couldnt find out, could someone tell me how i could access it/where it is located?

Im really concerned about this ABS/ASC issue since winter is coming up!!! (i live in edmonton, we get tons and tons and tons of snow), I have a good set of winter rubber but im still concerned about driving a RWD when its icy outside. not only that but im going to be moving (driving) to vancouver in january, so i dont want my ABS/ASC to crap out on me while on the highway.

Off topic, do you guys recommend doing a tran fluid change? my car has 110 000 kms, i went to the stealership yesterday and they told me that their fluid last "lifetime" however i find that hard to believe.

More often than not, it's not your ABS / Wheel Speed Sensor(s) that are faulty, but your ASC Control Unit. Very common.

Found in E46 owners handbook

Red and yellow: drive on, but
exercise restraint
If the brake warning light comes
on together with the yellow tell-
tale lights for ABS
and ASC+T/DSC:
The complete regulating system
for ABS, CBC, ASC+T/DSC and
ADB/ADB-X/DBC has failed.
Drive with care, looking at the
traffic situation well ahead, and avoid
heavy brake applications. Have the sys-
tem checked as soon as possible by
BMW Service.

your car is equipped with a diagnostic system and it can tell you what is specifically at fault. when you get the lights... go for a scan. get the codes and post them here if you need help deciphering what they mean

Someone here will always be on-hand to assist you
