E46 328ci fuel tank solenoid problems

I have a problem with my 328ci A/T, the main dealer says the fuel tank breather solenoid is creating a vacuum in the tank which causes the tank to flex in slightly before it releases. But the problem still happens with the fuel cap off...? It happens most often when cruising between 1500-2000 rpm but somtimes the rev counter twitches at higher cruising rpm.
Nothing is showing up on the computers at BMW either and they haven't come across it before...

Anyone got any ideas???

Thanks

I don't understand what your problem is. I see that the dealer has given you a possible explanation, but I do not know for what. Please excuse me if I should be able to know what you are talking about. It may be that I simply don't know enough about this particular area.

the fuel pump starves of fuel therefore the car jolts when this happens. The dealer hasn't come across this before so they say they would have to check each part associated with the venting which could take a lot of time and cost a lot aswell
