HI people new to the forum here so be gentle..
Friend of mine has an '02 E46 320d and has had a bump from the rear. No airbags have gone off and its not too bad but thething is the car wont start anymore.
The original battery is damaged and when a jumper battery is connected it powers up all the dash but when the key is turned the engine just clicks but wont turn over.
We have checked over some of the fuses but cant understand why it wont start.
Can anyone shed any light on this and if so try and point us into the right area and what we should check.
1. weak battery. change the battery. do not use jumper cables.
2. starter busted, ie not throwing onto the flywheel. do point1 first, then bang on the starter with a hammer, if non go then replace starter.
Best battery for your car and all E46 is an "Interstate", Part# MTP-91 (Mega-Tron Plus - 85 Months - 700 CCA), it fits perfectly and you got more than 7 years lifespan on it, mintenance free for only $100.00.

yes, also: even the batteries sold by dealers are not good. a lot of aftermarket stuff has hydrogen vents ion the wrong place, go with iterstate like zibby said.
