dose the E46 m3 bonnet fit on a standard 3 series

hello been loojing on a few web site and a lot of the member on there have put m3 e46 bonnect on there cars, can this be done ????????? and if so do i need to make any modification or adjustment, or will it be a straight swap

That's a good question. Also, since the E46 sedans have the black trim around the belt line and the M3s and coupes have painted trim, how would one go about handling this?
