Does the 2006 325i have a 3.0 liter engine? - BMW Forum

A guy I work with just purchased one and the guy he bought it from said it has a 3 liter engine. He asked me if this is true and I wasnt sure so I wanted to ask some people on here if they knew. TIA

It does in fact have a detuned 3 liter engine.

Edit: How exactly did you manage to get that much rep with 21 posts???

Do you happen to know any HP/Torque numbers or where I can find them?

The Euro 2006 325i has a 2.5 liter engine. The US-spec has a 3.0.

Thanks for the info... It's a US spec (military guy) and he was asking me about the motor and I had no clue. I thought it had a 2.5 {shrugs} hence the designation 325... I guess they made some changes yeah?

When I first heard about it I thought the guy had to be pulling my leg. Basically I think it must just be cheaper to build a larger quantity of 3.0's and then install different trimmings depending on which car the engine's going to go into.
