do i need extended warranty for new car?

will go sign the documents for 325i in the next few days.
since this is my first car, don't know anything about it.
any of you nice fellows can tell me what should I be careful
about, such as "should i buy extended warranty?",
"do i have to have car insurance before signing the
documents", etc. Anything you can think of which might
be useful for a dummie ......
