Since my car is new, i can't put any performance parts on it outside of dinan. To me dinan is rather expensive, but i really dont know how good the quality is. My first mod will be to put a Dinan intake on! Is it really worth the $400, and will i be able to hear, feel, or see a difference?

dinan is EXTREMELY high quality, id go for it, gotta factor int he software price too!
Talked to the dealer, they said i didn't necessarily need to get the software at the same time as the intake. They also said that it wouldn't mess anything up, but that i should look into buying it sometime in the near future. Should i trust this? Will i be able to notice any changes after the intake is put on?????

software isnt need....and if your gunna do other dinan mods, wait till you get the last one on (so you can get the highest stage instead of paying lots of money for upgrades each time)...yes you will feel a difference
Originally posted by AZ325Ci@Jun 22 2003, 09:22 PM dinan is very good. yes, the price is high, but it won't void your bmw warranty.
i was told that you had to get the software upgrade with the CAI.
nope....but if the CAI is the only dinan mod your guna get, the get the stage 2 software (correct?)......but if your gunna get exhaust/throttle bodies, wait!

typical dealer, just trying to take your money ghead
dinan is awesome products. the price is steep, but the name carries such a high standard of quality that they CAN charge that much. besides stuff like Carbon Fibre isnt cheep.

with 4-5 HP gain... You will not feel the difference. You're paying $400.00 for the Dinan name and the fact that your warranty is still intact. Actuallly you could have gotten an Ecis intake like what I have and your car will still be under warranty unless the techs find that the intake was the cause of a problem...
