Difference btw '01 vs '02 330

Just want to confirm the following:

Edmunds.com as well as couple other sources that I came across claimed that the '01s 330 is toned down in effort to appeal to a great market segment. As a result, the suspension and steering isn't as good. The company had corrected this "mistake" in '02.

Anyone knows whether it's true or not? I am in a market for a 330Ci and I am not sure which year to get.

the 2001's did have a lighter steering feel, alot of people said it was too light and lacked the right 'bmw' feel. however the dealer will probably update your rack and pinion for free if you take it in. i dont think the suspension was any different

If the steering is that important to you dont buy a 2001. I own one and I CAN say the steering is a little mushy compared to an 03 I tested a while back. Its not bad at all but its different enough some people would notice. If it can be easily corrected than id say go ahead though as the 2001s represent a very good value right now overall.
