dde light and gearbox safe mode on E46?

hi guys,
i have a problem with my 330d and i need your help.
some times the dde light comes on.if i accelarate hard with the light on, the gearbox go on safe mode and the engine dies.
then i must pull over , restart the engine and in a few minites the gearbox returns to normal and everything is fine.
if i drive the car normaly without pushing it nothing hapens but if i decide to accelatate hard it starts again: dde light go on, gerbox on safe mode.....

is the dde operation related with the gearbox safe mode?
is it a faulty injector or what?
problem with the transmision?

the car is an E46 2003 with steptronic and 168000km
chassis number is fx51808

There has to be something that is causing the car to go into safe mode under heavy throttle. Are you hearing any knock or anything?

Hi AchillesGr,

I have a 320D sport 150bhp, Manual with 93,000 on the clock. And im having exactly the same problem with it. If I potter around town softly it drives fine, but the moment I put my foot down and accelerate alittle hard to kits out loads of black smoke and dde light appears on the dash and goes into some sort of limp mode and loses all boost and power.
Would be very greatful if any news you find out you could email me or post on here and ill do the same if I find anything out.

Gearbox oil...
Check it and replace if necessary...
Gearbox sensor(s), check, CLEAN and/or replace as necessary!!
