Does anyone know why the DDE light and the coil symbol are lit up on my car? The engine cut out and stopper earlier on and sometimes it wont start. Please reply if you have any ideas, thanks.
If the coil symbol goes off and you start it and it comes back on one or more of your preheat plugs have gone..Thats why your DDE light is on I would suspect as theres a fault, a diagnostics will soon let you know what the problem is..

Marti is right, get some diagnostics run on your car and see what comes back, the preheating coils are pretty much required to start a diesel, especially in the colder weather. When the engine cut out, what was going on at the time, were you driving or stationary and idling, or had you just started the car?
