Well after taking apart my front end and seeing the possible places for a CAI, I've decided to fabricate a Dinan Stlye CAI that sits in front of the front fender.

I have two questions. One: Any who has a Dinan or Benfer downpipe, did you have to remount the control module for the headlight? Without doing that it seems like there's no room for the 3" pipe that needs to come through. Re-mounting isn't that big of a deal, I'm just curious.
Two: I'm breaking it down into stages. Stage I is just the carbon fiber downpipe + K&N filter. Stage II is a possible Ram effect. I'm planning on removing the trim on the bumper, just underneath the fog light and creating a two-piece scoop that will surround the filter and sit in the well. My question: Is this worth it? Cost isn't an issue on this, nor is time. I just want to hear some opinions on whether or not the scoop will create a ram effect.

Thanks! B)

I would have to say it's a worth while mod.

I don't have xenons, so I cant comment on the fitment issue. I got my car with the dinan intake and just the other day found that you can remove that plastic piece to get the ram air effect. Problem is the filter was caked in dirt so i can't really tell if the sudden boost in performance was due to the ram air, or the filter cleaning. But I can say that I got in a squirmish with a 911 turbo, and a M3 coupe. Of course the 911 beat us both, but I actually was right there with the m3 all the way to 130 when we let off. I just have intake and exhaust (both Dinan). That race happened after the filter cleaning and the ram air mod.

I would HIghly recommend keeping that plastic piece for the rainy season. It wouldn't be too bright for you to drive with it like that in the rain
